About the Company
Our client is adding a manufacturing process engineer that will be part of a growing team responsible for supporting the optimization within a complex manufacturing environment that will include improving existing operations as well as the implementation of new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Review and provide formal manufacturing input on product designs, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Ensure all manufacturing-related deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with project timelines.
- Define and document manufacturing processes, equipment requirements, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for new products.
- Support and/or lead process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) in collaboration with Quality Engineering.
- Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and internal Quality System requirements during product development and transfer.
- Identify manufacturing risks early and drive mitigation plans to support robust product launches.
- Support pilot builds, first article builds, and production ramp up activities.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to support supplier selection, supplier readiness, and manufacturability of purchased components.
- Provide technical support during design reviews, risk assessments (e.g., PFMEA), and change management activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with document control and change management procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering with a minimum of a year experience in a relatable engineering position directly supporting process improvement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency working within 3D modeling software to review parts, production drawings, and for computer aided manufacturing programs.
- Create, refine, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes that include both machining, automated, and manual procedures.
- Provide production floor support to course correct or create operational process efficiencies.
- Communicate expectations to production personnel to improve effectiveness and have interdepartmental collaboration to solve manufacturing problems.
- Oversee cost improvement or scrap reduction initiatives.
Skills
- Bachelors degree in engineering and 3+ years experience as a manufacturing engineer in a regulated environment such as automotive, FDA, or aerospace.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling CAD/CAM software, such as NX and Teamcenter, to troubleshoot existing design flaws and provide feedback to design team (Design for Manufacturing).
- Experience utilizing product lifecycle management software to enhance processes with sharing data through resource planning, manufacturing execution, and customer success management.
- Supporting new product development initiatives by providing support when integrating new products into production as well as guiding product design team with design for manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret GD&T specifications on engineering drawings.
