MPM Int’l Group is a fast-growing, family-owned business specializing in the production of premium animal bedding. With over 60 dedicated employees across facilities in the USA and Canada, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers. We are currently seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations at our manufacturing facility in Groveland, FL. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, and personnel management. The Plant Manager will report directly to the President and play a vital role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

· Plans, organizes, and runs optimum day-to-day operations.

· Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment that meets all OSHA, local, state, and federal requirements.

· Responsible for safety, cleanliness and good housekeeping of entire plant.

· Carries out inspections and assists in building and machinery repair to ensure a safe and well-maintained work environment.

· Conducts a weekly employee meeting to establishes personal goals and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork.

· Conducts or assists in regular safety meetings on a monthly basis or as needed.

· Operates mobile equipment as needed in a safely and efficiently, including forklift, front end loader, and yard jockey/trailer combination.

· Supervises loading and unloading of trucks and completion of paperwork.

· Verifies incoming shipments. Completes a daily inventory count and production report.

· Prepare and assists as required with monthly inventory counts.

· Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to production employees, office personnel and customers. Assists in the design and implementation of new procedures as needed.

· Leads and sustains a strong safety culture.

· Develops systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effect return on assets.

· Plans and manages capital spending to maintain critical equipment, improve efficiency, and increase production.

· Increases production, assets capacity and flexibility, while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.

· Allocates resources effectively and fully utilizes assets to produce optimal results.

· Implements strategies in alignment with company objectives while providing a clear sense of direction and focus for the team.

· Monitors weekly cost analysis and adjusts labor, materials and supplies to operate within budgets.

· Responsible for identifying, recruiting, managing, and developing the plant staff.

· Provides coaching, mentoring, and training for all plant supervisory employees.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum 10+ years of operations management experience in manufacturing plant operations with direct responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, quality, reliability and production.

· Strong knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

· Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data including pressures, temperatures, material flow rates, etc.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Suite as well as other applications.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Strong team building, decision-making and leadership skills.

Qualifications:

· Experience as a Plant Manager in a manufacturing environment and especially in Wood Products related industry such as sawmill and forestry but limited to.

· Experiences with Industrial Equipment.

· Knowledge and ability to perform welding and mechanical repairs.

· Spanish speaking ability is a plus.

Working Conditions

· Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in high and low temperatures.

· Willing and able to work in a noisy industrial environment.

· Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to climb stairs and ladders in wide range of environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

· Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (full shifts up to 8-12 hours).

· Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch to inspect machinery or assist with maintenance.

· Must be able to move quickly in emergency or safety in case of critical situations.

· Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 40-50lbs independently.

· May occasionally assist with heavier loads with mechanical assistance or team lifting.

· Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, computers, and machinery controls.

· Good visual acuity to inspect equipment, read paperwork, and monitor safety conditions.

· Adequate hearing to detect alarms, communicate in noisy environments, and conduct safety meetings.

· Regular physical inspections of the plant require frequent walking throughout large production areas.

· May require working non-standard shifts, including nights or weekends, depending on production schedules.
