· Conduct mechanical testing, validation, and performance evaluations to confirm compliance with quality and safety standards.
· Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during equipment operation, installation, or commissioning using structured problem‐solving techniques and root‐cause analysis.
· Support cross‐functional teams in developing preventive maintenance routines, troubleshooting guidelines, and training materials for mechanical equipment.
· Review and analyze mechanical designs from vendors or legacy equipment to identify improvement opportunities or ensure compatibility with internal standards.
· Apply principles of thermodynamics, mechanics, materials science, pneumatics, and hydraulics to improve performance, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment reliability.
· Maintain working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, OSHA, ISO) and ensure designs and modifications remain compliant.
· Implement mechanical improvements that enhance safety, ergonomics, energy efficiency, or throughput in manufacturing processes.
Must Haves:
· Proficiency in CAD modeling and drafting software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar) for design, documentation, and layout creation.
· Strong understanding of mechanical systems including gears, bearings, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, structural components, and machine assemblies.
· Experience with mechanical design principles such as tolerance analysis, FEA, material selection, and mechanism design.
· Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical failures or performance deviations.
· Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, fluid power diagrams, and technical specifications from both domestic and foreign equipment providers.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting mechanical designs, collaborating with vendors, and communicating with internal teams.
· Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forming, and assembly, and with evaluating manufacturability of designs.
· Proficiency in MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, documentation, communication, and data analysis.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design, equipment integration, machine development, or manufacturing engineering involving both domestic and internationally sourced machinery..
Physical Requirements:
· Extended periods of computer-based design, analysis, and documentation.
· Ability to lift up to 15 pounds during equipment evaluations, shop‐floor activities, or prototype testing.
