A day in this role
You’ll partner with production operators to diagnose issues fast, complete precise corrective repairs, and tackle scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime. You’ll document work thoroughly so maintenance history and time are accurate and actionable.
What you’ll work on
- Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and articulating boom lifts to execute maintenance tasks and projects.
- Interpret blueprints; create layout sketches as needed.
- Operate a plasma cutter for fabrication and repairs.
- Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns using sound troubleshooting methods.
- Troubleshoot and wire 3‑phase motors.
- Troubleshoot and repair 110V and 24V control wiring.
- Rebuild centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
- Follow all HCC safety procedures; engage actively with production to coordinate repairs.
- Prioritize work and own results—delivering to our core value of Excellence.
- Invest in your development through training held before, during, and after shifts—and on scheduled days off.
- Coach teammates and support buddy/on‑the‑job training.
- Champion food safety and sanitation policies; report incidents and opportunities; participate in root cause analysis and improvement work.
- Put safety first—report observations and join departmental safety teams.
- May participate on ERT and Hazmat teams.
Minimum qualifications
- Proficient in English: read, write, speak, and comprehend.
- 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience OR completion of a technical program.
- Solid knowledge of basic hand tools and the ability to explain your troubleshooting approach.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules (day/swing/graveyard).
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certificate or coursework in Industrial Maintenance, Automotive or Diesel Equipment repair, or related field.
- 1 year of SAP experience.
- 2 years in dairy manufacturing plus 1 year of operator‑based maintenance; OR 4 years industrial manufacturing and/or 2 years industrial/automotive/diesel/agricultural maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of gas, TIG, MIG, and arc welding.
