Maintenance Technician (powder coating equipment)
Clinton Twp., MI
Co. is a powder coat manufacturing facility
Pay rates:
$30/hr for Sr level
$24+ $1 shift prem. based on experience. Potential for growth w/ higher wage
1st & 3rd shift, 6/7am - 3/4pm OR 9pm - 7am, 2 paid breaks, unpaid ½ hour lunch
10 hour shift currently
Summary
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
-Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
-Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
-Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
-Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
-Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
-Develop and maintain all preventative and corrective maintenance programs using PLEX.
-Maintain special projects list for weekly review to indicate status and suggest additional improvement projects.
-Takes steps for continual improvement using PLEX reports as the driving factor to run the business.
-Enforce safety rules and general shop rules throughout the plant.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates the skills required or aptitude and motivation to master the required skills, essential duties, and responsibilities with reasonable supervision and training
- Relevant manufacturing experience (powder coat or e-coating)
- Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Understanding written and verbal instructions
- Working knowledge of Plex
- Maintain a good safety record
- Knowledge of customer parts packaging
- Willingness and ability to give direction and instructions
- Ability to work overtime and weekends on short notice
- Good teamwork approach and attitude
- Willingness and ability to accept responsibility and training.
- Willingness to work overtime on short notice to satisfy customer requirements.
