Maintenance Mechanic – Paper Converting Equipment
Location: Alsip, IL
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday–Friday
Pay: $30–$35/hr DOE

Randstad USA is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with North America’s largest distributor and converter of fine printing and packaging paper. This is a full-time role focused on maintaining and repairing sheeters, rewinders, and trimmers in a fast-paced paper converting facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

• Perform machine overhauls, installations, and setups of converting equipment

• Work with motors, gears, pumps, compressors, clutches, brakes, and electrical circuits

• Carry out preventative maintenance, lubrication, and light machining

• Fabricate and weld parts as needed

• Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings

• Ensure reliable equipment operation to support daily production goals

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (required)

• Experience with sheeters, rewinders, or similar machinery strongly

• Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

• Welding and fabrication experience

• Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions

• Strong knowledge of maintenance tools, drawings, and safety protocols

Compensation & Benefits:

• $30–$35/hr DOE
