Job Description

The Panther Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in tooling design and CNC programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop production tooling using CAD software to meet customer and engineering requirements.
  • Evaluate technical challenges and implement solutions including part redesign, material changes, and assembly improvements.
  • Generate detailed fabrication drawings and specifications for in-house manufacturing.
  • Support sheet metal forming, punching, and fabrication processes through effective tool design.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, and tool room teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead tooling validation for new product introductions and oversee modifications to improve performance and longevity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, cycle time, and process optimization.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, process controls, and work instructions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of tooling design experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks or similar platforms).
  • Experience with fixtures, dies, jigs, and production tooling.
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
