Key areas of responsibility: Direct managerial responsibility for the “Costing and Data Management” department. (PPM’s, timecards, performance management) Prioritization of work for their direct reports. Analyzing cross-training gaps; developing and facilitate training plans Creation of new routings while ensuring the times are accurate and consistent to the “Process and Operations” templates. Ensure the tool cribs spend and stocking levels are aligned with forecasted shipments. Create and maintain all costing structures by product groups. Coordinate with quoting team to ensure consistent cost and processes on MTO items. Participating in Design Reviews to ensure manufacturability of designs of MTO and NPC items Other responsibilities of this position include utilization of vendors and other Kennametal locations to support manufacturing activities beyond the scope and capabilities of the Solon facility, including but not limited to modernization and simplification of manufacturing processes. A candidate in this position will be required to participate in technical design reviews, specify machine tools and justify their acquisition and challenge status-quo manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements while maintaining a cost-effective and time-sensitive approach. Qualifications The candidate should have: Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 2 or more years’ experience in manufacturing Proven experience in the following areas: Unigraphics NX CAD/CAM experience, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), SAP, vendor selection and qualification responsibilities and manufacturing support activities to include tooling selection, fixture/ work holding design. Analytical problem-solving skills, including knowledge of FMEA, Statistical Process Control, DOE or similar disciplines and exhibit the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment All employees are expected to: Be aware of and adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety practices for the facility and immediate area.
