Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer supports production by learning to maintain and improve processes using troubleshooting and basic manufacturing tools. This role will help research and apply new technologies to increase efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability. The position is designed for early-career engineers who are eager to learn, grow their technical skills, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The work required is often hands-on, involving interaction with shop floor personnel as well as engineering and manufacturing groups to ensure effective process improvement plans are developed and implemented.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Collaborates with planning and design engineering concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Creating and releasing engineering drawings through Engineering Change processes.
  • Creating and maintaining work procedures.
  • Design and build test fixtures for wire harnesses, electrical switches, and mechanical testing.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3D Modeling – PTC Creo - Willing to train applicants who have alternative 3D modeling experience.
  • Ability to independently identify problems and effectively offer solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Speak Spanish
  • Knowledge of common materials – Steel, Copper and Aluminum Alloys
  • Corrosion causes and prevention
  • Experience with mills, lathes, and other shop tools
  • Design techniques for 3D Printing
  • Understanding of Injection Molding
  • CNC Programming
