Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer - CNC Precision Machining in Horsham
Job DescriptionJob Description
Ram Precision | Horsham, PA
Ram Precision is a family-run precision manufacturing shop in Horsham, Pennsylvania. We have a team of about 15 employees working in a 12,000 sq ft facility. We design and fabricate tight tolerance, high-precision components for the medical industry and semiconductor industry, regularly shipping all over the world.
We’re looking for an engineer who wants to work directly with our machinists, grinders and tool makers and be involved in how parts are made. You’ll use CAD/CAM and practical problem-solving to develop machining processes, improve existing ones, and help keep a high-precision shop running efficiently. The work ranges from planning how to make a part to troubleshooting a problem on the floor and finding a better way to make it next time. A common issue for Ram Precision is scaling the quantities manufactured from a handful, to then making 25 of them, and then 250 of them.
We’re open to different experience levels. CNC programming experience is useful, and candidates who want to learn CNC programming are welcome.
What you’ll do
- Develop and improve CNC machining processes, using CAD/CAM where applicable
- Help reduce setup and cycle times and improve manufacturing efficiency
- Improve tooling, workholding, and fixturing
- Troubleshoot machining and process problems with machinists on the shop floor
- Support the introduction of new technologies and continuous improvement
- Inspect parts as part of Ram Precision’s stringent quality controls
- Help develop or improve inspection methods and process documentation where needed
What we’re looking for
- A degree or experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or process engineering—or practical experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- CAD/CAM experience or the ability to learn and apply it to machining processes
- Interest in CNC machining and hands-on manufacturing
- A practical, methodical approach to solving problems
- Initiative and the ability to work directly with machinists and other team members
- Care and attention to detail when making and inspecting precision parts
Compensation and benefits
Strong compensation and vacation time are available, with compensation and vacation based on experience, as well providing healthcare and 401(k) Benefits. Ram Precision is proud to have contributed to profit sharing for our employees for 11 consecutive years now.
Why Ram Precision
At Ram Precision, engineering has a direct connection to the parts we make and the people who make them. You’ll work across a variety of parts, materials, and manufacturing challenges, with the opportunity to improve processes and see the results quickly on the shop floor.
