Job Description

PE Global is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12-month contract and the rate is £26.26 PAYE or £35.64 Umbrella p/hour.

Monday to Thursday 7:00 to 4:00 pm and Friday -7:00 -11:00 am with 5% travel expected within the UK.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Manufacturing Engineering activities across NPI gateways (G1–G6)
• Own readiness reviews and ensure ME deliverables are approved at each stage
• Design and implement production processes
• Develop and maintain: PFMEA, Control Plans, Standard Work, Process documentation
• Manage tooling, fixtures, and equipment from concept to commissioning
• Support prototype, pilot, and validation builds
• Collaborate with Product Engineering on DFM and change management
• Support PPAP, capability studies, and launch readiness
• Act as ME lead in technical reviews and programme governance

Requirements:

Essential:

• Minimum 5 years’ Manufacturing Engineering experience
• Strong background in: Production process design & implementation, Project management, Communication & stakeholder engagement
• Experience in assembly and automation environments

Industry Background:

• Automotive
• Aerospace
• Advanced manufacturing

Tools & Systems:

• Microsoft 365
• 2D AutoCAD (layouts)
• Creo or Fusion 360 (3D modelling)
• Teamcenter (PLM) – desirable but not essential

Qualifications

• Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
