Overview
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the multifamily interiors space, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize production operations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize cabinet manufacturing processes using advanced woodworking machinery (including Homag systems such as StoreTeq, SawTeq, CentaTeq, and EdgeTeq)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, cost reduction, and implementation of new equipment and technologies
- Ensure all manufacturing operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Analyze workflows, equipment layout, and facility space utilization to improve efficiency and throughput
- Develop and maintain process flow documentation, production schedules, and facility layouts
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics and production standards
- Partner cross-functionally with production, sales, and project management teams to support operational goals
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and defects
- Evaluate and recommend upgrades to equipment and tooling
- Support installation, configuration, and optimization of manufacturing software systems
- Deliver training on equipment, processes, and new technologies, including European machinery platforms
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and equipment vendors
- Contribute to long-term operational planning and capital improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to analyze production challenges and implement effective corrective actions
- Experience developing process flows, defining work centers, and conducting time studies
- Ability to evaluate tooling, equipment performance, and manufacturing methods to drive productivity improvements
- Experience assessing process capability and ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Ability to support new product development through specifications, drawings, and material/process selection
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
- Data-driven mindset with focus on improving uptime, operator performance, tooling utilization, and defect reduction
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities
- Commitment to workplace safety standards and best practices
Qualifications
- Experience working with advanced woodworking or CNC manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with Homag or similar automated production systems
- Exposure to manufacturing software systems and implementation
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering environment)
