️\n\nManufacturing Engineer\n\n \n\nLocation:\n \n Manchester\n\n \n\nSalary:\n \n £45,000 to £55,000\n\n \n \n Contract: Permanent\n\nNter Talent is supporting our client in the search for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Bridge Systems team in Manchester.\n \n This is a key role focused on developing and implementing manufacturing process improvements, driving efficiency, and supporting major capital projects across Bridges - while also providing support to Boxer programmes where required.\n\nWhy This Role?\n\nOpportunity to make a direct impact within a leading defence manufacturer\n\nBlend of hands-on shop floor work and process improvement leadership\n\nExposure to large-scale automation and capital investment projects\n\nPlay a central role in delivering continuous improvement across production\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\n\nDevelop and implement revised factory layouts to optimise flow and reduce waste\n\nProvide hands-on engineering support to the build process on the shop floor\n\nResolve fabrication and assembly quality issues with robust, timely solutions\n\nExplore and deliver automation opportunities for efficiency and quality gains\n\nImprove dimensional stability through effective jigging, fixturing, and alignment\n\nLead and implement quality and manufacturing improvement programmes\n\nDrive efficiency and reduce build hours per product through lean initiatives\n\nCoordinate cross-functional projects to optimise cost and performance\n\nSupport structured problem-solving and process improvement activities\n\nProvide design-for-manufacturing input during early product development\n\nEnsure compliance with EHS, manufacturing, and quality standards\n\nWrite and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\nDegree, HND, or Higher/Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering\n\nProven experience in complex engineering or industrial manufacturing environments\n\nProficiency with AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting tools (3D CAD an advantage)\n\nSAP planning and BOM structuring experience\n\nExperience introducing automation and managing capital investment projects\n\nKnowledge of welding (aluminium and ferrous metals) and GD&T interpretation\n\nJig and fixture design experience\n\nStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills\n\nHands-on, flexible, and calm under pressure
