Manufacturing Engineer in Lansing

Key Areas of Responsibility (Answerable for the following end results)

· Assist with reducing equipment downtime and improving processes through data collection and basic troubleshooting under guidance.

· Help update or create Process Flows, SOPs, and work instructions.

· Participate in time studies and basic labor analysis with coaching from engineers.

· Support layout improvements, small projects, and error‑proofing tasks.

· Learn and assist with Lean principles, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement projects.

· Help collect, organize, and document engineering change information.

· Shadow engineers to gain exposure to CAD layouts, process development, and manufacturing equipment.

· Complete assigned tasks and document work clearly.

· Follow all company safety guidelines and participate in safety training.

Limits of Authority

· Must report issues that could impact quality, safety, or customer satisfaction.

· May identify problems and offer suggestions but cannot independently approve engineering changes.

· All changes to processes or layouts must be reviewed and approved by supervising engineers.

Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required

· Currently a Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.

· Basic understanding of manufacturing or mechanical processes (coursework acceptable).

· Exposure to CAD tools .

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

· Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
