Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a leading nuclear engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for its Derby site.\n\nThe strategically important Manufacturing Engineer role comes with a salary of £45,000-£55,000 per annum, alongside the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects, professional development opportunities and a comprehensive employee benefits package.\n\nIf you're a Manufacturing Engineer and are looking to work for an organisation that supports innovation, continuous improvement and technical excellence within highly regulated industries, then submit your CV to apply today.\n\nResponsibilities and duties of the Manufacturing Engineer role\n\nReporting to the Manufacturing Manager you will:\n\nAnalyse existing manufacturing processes and develop improved methods to increase efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness.\nProvide technical support to production teams, resolving manufacturing issues and responding to technical queries.\nDevelop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards.\nDesign, define and introduce new manufacturing tools, equipment and production methods.\nConduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new manufacturing processes and improvement initiatives.\nMonitor and analyse production data to identify opportunities for productivity and performance improvements.\nSupport the technical review of parts, including reviewing open non-conformances, enabling closeout activities and confirming methods of change.\nEnsure all manufacturing activities comply with relevant industry regulations, quality standards and nuclear safety requirements.\nWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.\n\nProfessional qualifications\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following:\n\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nMinimum of three years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.\nStrong understanding of nuclear safety regulations, quality standards and compliance requirements.\nExperience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.\nDemonstrable experience designing, defining and improving manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.\nStrong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.\nSC clearable or currently SC cleared, with sole British required.\n\nPersonal skills\n\nThe Manufacturing Engineer role would suit someone who is:\n\nTechnically competent with a strong manufacturing engineering background.\nProactive and driven by continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nHighly analytical with excellent attention to detail.\nAn effective communicator capable of working with production teams and stakeholders at all levels.\nComfortable working within a collaborative, client-site environment.\nAdaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering setting.\n\nSalary and benefits of the Manufacturing Engineer role\n\nSalary of £45,000-£55,000 per annum.\nMonday to Friday working pattern, based on-site in Derby.\nContract and permanent opportunities available.\nOpportunity to work on high-profile projects within the nuclear and regulated sectors.\nStructured career development and progression opportunities.\nEmployee assistance programme, including wellbeing and mental health support.\nEmployee discounts and reward schemes.\nEye test and glasses vouchers.\nCycle to work scheme.\nFree annual flu vaccinations.\nExposure to cutting-edge engineering projects within a globally recognised engineering environment.#LI-CM1\n\nINDNUC\n\nAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
