Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimating Engineer to join our team at our facility in Germantown, WI. As a Cost Estimating Engineer, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with manufacturing processes and products. You will utilize your expertise in CNC Milling and Lathe operations, CAD/CAM software, and blueprint reading to analyze and determine the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing methods. If you have a strong background in cost estimation and a passion for precision machining, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate costs for manufacturing processes, including labor, materials and services to machine parts from a variety of materials including forgings, castings, and "super" alloys (Monel, Inconel, Titanium, etc.)
  • Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods.
  • Assist negotiating business opportunities and help close deals.
  • Collaborate with product design team to provide cost estimates for new product development and fixture design.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and work instructions.
  • Work closely with production for successful hand-off of projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Machining experience in CNC milling & CNC turning - 5-axis a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software - Mastercam/Solidworks a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and shop math skills
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data analysis
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in process development and product design
