Manufacturing Engineer (Automation)



Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

Type: Permanent, Full-Time | Hours: 37.5 per week

Working Pattern: Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm | Fri 8am-1:30pm

Location: Whitstable - On-site with ad-hoc home working



We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Automation) to support product and process development with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.



Key Duties



Support NPI, process design, and engineering change activities



Assist with DFMEA/PFMEA and APQP activities



Support tooling, fixture, and automation solution development



Assist with automation integration (robotics, PLCs, vision, conveyors)



Support PPAP, validation, commissioning, and production issues



Assist with audits, quality improvements, and supplier corrective actions



Essential Requirements



BEng / Level 6 in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline



5+ years' manufacturing or engineering experience



CAD experience (Creo )



Ability to read technical drawings



Understanding of ERP/MRP and PDM systems



Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation



Desirable



MEng / Level 7



High-volume manufacturing experience



Hands-on automation, robotics, or PLC programming



Knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100, AS13100, AS9145)
