️\n\nManufacturing Engineer\n\n \n\nLocation:\n \n Manchester\n\n \n\nSalary:\n \n £45,000 to £55,000\n\n \n\nContract:\n \n Permanent\n\nNter Talent is proud to partner with our client, supporting their mission to advance the Boxer MIV programme through exceptional engineering and manufacturing excellence.\n \n This role focuses on developing the Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) element - ensuring knowledge transfer from the German parent company and embedding best practices across production.\n\nWhy This Role?\n\nShape the UK AIT capability for one of the country’s most advanced defence manufacturing projects.\n\nLead process improvement initiatives during ramp-up and stable production phases.\n\nBe the central knowledge point for AIT, tooling, and production methods.\n\nDrive a continuous improvement culture across manufacturing operations.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\n\nTransfer AIT production knowledge from the parent company to Stockport operations.\n\nSupport operators and enhance their technical understanding of AIT processes and parts.\n\nLead structured problem-solving and lean process improvement.\n\nCoordinate cross-functional teams to optimise cost performance and reduce waste.\n\nProvide design-for-manufacture input during product development.\n\nDevelop standard operations and work balance charts.\n\nEnsure compliance with all EHS and quality standards.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\nBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or HND/Higher Apprenticeship.\n\nExperience in complex engineering/manufacturing environments.\n\nStrong understanding of Engineering Change processes.\n\nSAP planning experience and BOM structuring skills.\n\nHands-on, proactive approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
