Manufacturing Engineer

Overview:
Seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, support new product introduction, and optimize production operations. This role combines floor-level engagement with strategic planning and documentation to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Process Support:

Recommend, test, and implement new equipment and software.

Provide on-site support and training for production teams.

Develop and update process maps and specifications.

Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Collaborate with management on production planning and capabilities.
-
Apply statistical tools to forecast manufacturing needs.
Tooling & Quality Assurance:

Recommend tooling and fixtures for various assembly and coating processes.

Ensure process and product quality through validation and data analysis.

Maintain process databases and support data entry programming.
New Product Introduction:

Interpret technical drawings and specs to guide production.

Develop routers, instructions, and time standards in ERP systems.

Improve methods and workflows for new and existing products.

Estimate production times, labor needs, and costs.

Partner with design and supply chain teams to align on materials, tooling, and quality standards.
Process Optimization:

Identify and implement improvements using SPC data, defect tracking, and team feedback.

Support corrective action efforts and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) discussions.

Manage part databases to reduce redundancies and improve sourcing.

Optimize layouts, workflows, and space usage for efficiency gains.
Qualifications:

Experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.

Strong understanding of lean principles, tooling, ERP systems, and technical documentation.

Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, QA, and suppliers.
