Manufacturing Engineer

Overview:
Seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, support new product introduction, and optimize production operations. This role combines floor-level engagement with strategic planning and documentation to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Process Support:

  • Recommend, test, and implement new equipment and software.

  • Provide on-site support and training for production teams.

  • Develop and update process maps and specifications.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

  • Collaborate with management on production planning and capabilities.

  • Apply statistical tools to forecast manufacturing needs.

Tooling & Quality Assurance:

  • Recommend tooling and fixtures for various assembly and coating processes.

  • Ensure process and product quality through validation and data analysis.

  • Maintain process databases and support data entry programming.

New Product Introduction:

  • Interpret technical drawings and specs to guide production.

  • Develop routers, instructions, and time standards in ERP systems.

  • Improve methods and workflows for new and existing products.

  • Estimate production times, labor needs, and costs.

  • Partner with design and supply chain teams to align on materials, tooling, and quality standards.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify and implement improvements using SPC data, defect tracking, and team feedback.

  • Support corrective action efforts and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) discussions.

  • Manage part databases to reduce redundancies and improve sourcing.

  • Optimize layouts, workflows, and space usage for efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.

  • Strong understanding of lean principles, tooling, ERP systems, and technical documentation.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, QA, and suppliers.
