Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in production. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve existing processes, develop new manufacturing methods, and support the introduction of new products. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design & Improvement:
    • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
    • Design and develop new manufacturing processes and workflows to optimize production.
    • Conduct time studies and process evaluations to establish baseline performance metrics.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead projects focused on process optimization, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
    • Collaborate with production teams to implement changes and ensure successful integration into existing operations.
    • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures and process documentation to ensure product quality.
    • Work closely with quality assurance teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing defects and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide technical support to production teams, addressing issues related to equipment, tooling, and processes.
    • Train operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Cost Reduction:
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment that can enhance manufacturing capabilities and reduce costs.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of process changes, improvements, and performance metrics.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on project progress, process improvements, and performance outcomes for management review.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field, preferably in a [specific industry, e.g., automotive, aerospace, electronics].
    • Experience with process design, optimization, and project management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality improvement tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent .
  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing.
