The Manufacturing Engineer supports the production environment by developing, improving, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. This role is hands-on and cross-functional, working closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams to bring new products into production and continuously optimize existing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring smooth transition from engineering design to full-scale production
  • Design, build, and maintain fixtures, jigs, and production test equipment
  • Create and update work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related documentation
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams to support production setup
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Perform time studies and recommend process improvements using Lean or Six Sigma tools
  • Collaborate with the quality team on PFMEAs, control plans, and process validations
  • Evaluate and implement automation, tooling upgrades, or equipment enhancements to support production scalability
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations through proper risk assessments and safe work practices
  • Provide day-to-day support to production teams and assist with troubleshooting issues on the shop floor
  • Support cross-functional engineering projects as needed


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field )
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a production environment
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, including fixture and test station development,
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience supporting or leading New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software; 3D printing experience a plus
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to spend time on the production floor
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively across departments
  • Basic understanding of automation or programming is a plus
