Summary:Manufacturing Process Optimization, Continuous Improvement Initiatives, Documentation and Standardization, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Supplier Management, Compliance and Quality Assurance
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Evaluate existing processes, workflows, and equipment to identify improvement opportunities, streamline operations, reduce waste, and minimize costs.
- Design tools, fixtures, and equipment modifications to enhance safety and ergonomics.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Lead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity improvements.
- Analyze production data and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technology advancements to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
- Develop and maintain documentation such as process flowcharts, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Create standard work instructions for production processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Collaborate with production, design, and quality assurance teams to develop manufacturing strategies.
- Provide technical support to production personnel and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements, monitor supplier performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate supplier audits and collaborate with internal teams to develop supplier improvement initiatives and address supply chain risks.
- Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to ISO 9001-2015 and meet all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
- Support quality assurance and initiate initiatives for scrap and waste reduction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent degree or experience.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a CNC machining manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing machinery and machining processes.
- Familiarity with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (interpretation of engineering detail drawings).
- Prior machining experience; CNC programming or CAD-CAM knowledge is beneficial.
- Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in using MRP and similar computer-based technologies in a production-manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Ability to organize work and effectively use MRP systems to achieve customer delivery requirements.
