Manufacturing Engineer


Location: Geneva, Ohio (Onsite)
Salary: Starting at $70,000+ DOE
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire


Our client in Geneva, Ohio is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in a direct hire, onsite position. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering professional with 1–3 years of experience to contribute to high-impact projects supporting defense-related programs.

Due to the nature of the work and contractual requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.


Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls while coordinating manufacturing launches for new or revised products supporting both commercial and defense programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes and methods to meet defense and commercial quality standards while achieving cost and schedule goals.
  • Lead the analysis and design of lean manufacturing cells, optimizing space, equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of processes and related equipment.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, and supply chain teams to align production capabilities and schedules with customer and program requirements.
  • Develop work aids, instructions, and documentation to train assembly personnel and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Design, develop, test, source, and cost-justify tools, machinery, and equipment for new or improved manufacturing methods.
  • Work with vendors to specify, source, and purchase equipment and materials in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process efficiency.
  • Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams supporting both internal initiatives and defense program deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, supporting the organization’s mission and values.


Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required (due to defense-related program requirements).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process design, or related fields.
  • Practical experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools; CNC programming experience .
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems (SAP ).


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • May be exposed to moderate noise, fumes, dust, or temperature changes in production areas.
  • Regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
  • Participation in new employee safety  and training for specific tools or software is required.
