Manufacturing Engineer I

 

  • Will be updating details on drawings, engineering change orders, etc. for their rebranding project.
  • Manager said he’d consider someone without direct CAD experience if they were sharp and could be trained, but I’d prefer to send candidate who have some hands on experience in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. 
  • Agile engineering change order experience preferred. 
  • Will consider nearly anyone: high school graduate, some college, recent college grad, experienced engineer – anyone who can learn the job, and and will show up.
  • Schedule: M-F, 8am – 5pm, some flex. 100% onsite. 
    Interview: One, possibly two, onsite interviews. 

Duties:

  • Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
  • Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for component and subsystem design for rebranding products with a focus on DFM (design for manufacturability).
  • Technical writing in support of design inputs, design outputs, qualification activities, regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate and contribute as a part of a project team with primary focus on mechanical design and production transfer activities.
  • Determine design feasibility, evaluate design alternatives, and select optimum design approach.
  • Develop requirements, specifications, drawings, bills of material, and material cost estimates.

  • AutoCAD
  • Engineering Change Order Management
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership, self-starter
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of machining, injection molding, compression molding, thermoforming, CNC machining, die-cutting, sheet metal stamping/forming and extrusion methods in relationship to product development.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling and drafting using SolidWorks. Experience with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
  • Track record in design for manufacturing and industrial design.

Education:

  • Pursuing or completed BS in Engineering
