This onsite position is based in Sumner, Iowa, where you will collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure our vehicles meet rigorous industry standards while supporting our dealer network.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes and workflows, with a strong emphasis on Bills of Materials (BOM) management and process optimization. This role plays a key part in supporting production efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system.
  • Design, document, and optimize manufacturing processes and standard work instructions.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by developing manufacturing plans, process flows, and work instructions.
  • Analyze and improve existing manufacturing workflows to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and process capability.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
  • Select and specify manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Conduct time studies and capacity analysis for planning and labor efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain routings and labor standards for production processes.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues related to process deviations, tooling, and BOM discrepancies.
  • Support quality assurance and corrective action efforts related to process defects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Bills of Materials, routings, and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
  • Hands-on experience with process engineering, process documentation, and production support.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
