About the Role


Razor is seeking a Manager, Solutions Engineering to lead and grow our Solutions Engineering team. This role is responsible for building a high-performing group of technical leaders who design and support innovative solutions that align customer needs with Razor’s strategic objectives.


As a key leader within the technical organization, the Manager, Solutions Engineering partners closely with Sales, Delivery, and Product teams to ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, and executable. This position blends hands-on technical expertise, people leadership, and business acumen to support Razor’s continued growth.



What You’ll Do


Team Leadership & Management


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Solution Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, team meetings, and performance reviews to align individual and team goals with company objectives.
  • Set and track KPIs to measure performance, quality, and effectiveness of the Solutions Engineering function.


Technical Oversight & Quality

  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex or high-impact solution designs.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and repeatable processes in solution architecture and proposals.
  • Review and approve technical designs and proposals to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with customer requirements.


Sales & Delivery Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales to align solution engineering efforts with customer needs, sales strategy, and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Delivery teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and ready for successful implementation.
  • Participate in customer meetings as a technical leader and trusted advisor when needed.


Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Solutions Engineering activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across pre-sales and solution design processes.
  • Maintain a centralized repository for solution documentation, templates, and standards.


Training & Professional Development


  • Identify skill gaps and implement training plans to strengthen technical and consultative capabilities.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, platforms, and industry trends.
  • Encourage professional growth through certifications, workshops, and industry events.


Resource Planning & Reporting

  • Manage team capacity and resource allocation to support pre-sales, customer engagements, and internal initiatives.
  • Track and report on key metrics such as proposal success rates, utilization, and delivery readiness.
  • Provide regular insights and updates to senior leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities.


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading or managing technical or solutions engineering teams.
  • Strong background in solution design, architecture, and pre-sales engineering.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Delivery, and Leadership teams.
  • A growth mindset with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and building strong teams.
