This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.Essential Job Functions (Including of Time for Each)This position reports to the Senior Manager of Reliability, System Safety, and Specialty Engineering (RSSSE). The successful candidate will direct, coordinate, and review the work of staff engineers; estimate personnel needs; and schedule and assign work to meet completion dates and company financial goals. The successful candidate will also support programs as a reliability and system safety expert and assist with improving RSSSE procedures and standard work.50 - Provide leadership and direct technical support of AR products and services for both development and operational / production programs.30 - Perform functional management responsibilities, including program staffing, employee skill and career development, performance evaluations, salary planning, work prioritization, and technical oversight of employee work products.10 - Develop and implement RSSSE procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and methods. Act as a liaison between RSSSE and programs, other engineering disciplines, and other organizations.10 - Provide leadership for the design, development and implementation of product and process improvement and affordability activities. Routine reporting and communication with SE&I Director, RSSSE Senior Manager and peer RSSSE engineering Managers is also expected. Job Requirements: RequirementsRequires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of nine (9) years of progressive experience. Master’s degree desired. Strong technical and team-working skills required. Previous lead engineer or management experience is a plus. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.The candidate should have demonstrated skills in Reliability Engineering, System Safety Engineering, and probabilistic assessments. Experience with Mass Properties is a plus. Experience with liquid rocket engines and hypersonic propulsion systems is desired.May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may be a condition of employment at Aerojet Rocketdyne. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
