Position Summary: Position reports to the Plant Director. As a member of the management team, the Maintenance and Engineering Manager takes part in leadership within the framework of the Patco strategy. The position develops and maintains maintenance conformity within company, state and federal requirements for food manufacturing. This position is also responsible for managing the site capital expenditure budget and executing capital investment projects.
Deputies: Maintenance department and process engineers of the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or a related field.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role, or related experience. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Safety – Provide leadership to all maintenance employees related to safe work practices, good housekeeping and following safety procedures.
- Quality - Responsible for promoting and ensuring food safety, legality and quality with their areas of responsibility. Ensures the conformance of Grandview processes and activities to FDA GMP (21CFR Part 110), ISO 9001, EXCiPACT, and BRC standards
- Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of the maintenance department. Lead maintenance supervisor, planner, engineers, and reliability technician to consistently execute Patco policies and procedures.
- Financial - Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control maintenance budgets. Prepare and control Capex budget. Control spare parts inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
- Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Provide technical support where necessary.
- Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for maintenance activity. Implement and manage maintenance plans.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains maintenance standards in adherence with company, OSHA and other federal regulations as required.
- Provides overall leadership and direction for the Grandview maintenance consistent with global goals and requirements.
- Takes part in the development and execution of policy for the Grandview site, as a member of the management team, specifically from the point of the discipline to realize the maintenance goals of the company now and in the future.
- Proactively plans and accomplishes department and company goals in alignment with the global company objectives.
- Responsible for complying with the union contract and applying union corrective action regarding grievances and other issues.
- Responsible for scheduling work orders, verify work orders for accuracy and completion and equipment and parts inventory control.
- Manage the plant maintenance department personnel, including assignment of work, associate development, performance reviews and timecard approvals.
- Manage the plant maintenance department annual budget
- Ensure completion of Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, scheduled work orders, and emergency work orders.
- Drive implementation of the Patco predictive maintenance program for maximum equipment uptime.
- Manage the accuracy of parts inventory, spares and requisition of replacement.
- Execute continuous improvement projects in support of the maintenance department goals.
- Responsible for site Capex budget, reporting and project execution.
