PhaseWell Research is seeking a strategic and operationally focused Manager, Integration Strategy & Operations to lead the integration of newly acquired clinical trial sites into the PhaseWell Research network. PhaseWell Research, backed by Shore Capital Partners, is a fast-growing platform within the Clinical Trial Sites industry. Providing access to world-class clinical research to as many people as possible within the communities we serve, we are united by shared commitment to advancing the future of medicine. As a recently launched platform with rapid growth trajectory, this hire has a unique opportunity to join on the “ground floor” alongside a proven team of healthcare and private equity executives. Successful candidates will have significant runway to build their career as the platform scales. This role requires a full relocation to Nashville, Tennessee.


As a key member of the Operations team reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, this role will also work closely with other members of the executive leadership team, including the CEO, CFO, and VP of M&A to ensure that each acquisition is thoughtfully and effectively brought into the PhaseWell network. This is a highly visible position, often serving as the newly acquired team’s first introduction to the PhaseWell culture, values, and way of operating. As such, the role is equal parts execution, relationship-building, and culture-setting—helping new team members feel welcomed and excited to join the PhaseWell network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integration Planning & Execution: Lead the operational integration of newly acquired entities from pre-close planning through full post-close integration. Develop and execute integration plans that address people, process, technology, and culture. Integration responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Finance & Accounting: Migrate banking/treasury management relationships, consolidate financial vendors, & support accounting function centralization
    • Human Capital: Implement new payroll/HRIS system, HR onboarding & training, workforce planning/org design, & benefits migration
    • IT: In partnership with our IT MSP, transition to centralized IT managed services provider, implement cyber standards, migrate hardware and infrastructure, & consolidate and integrate data environments
    • Other functional integration: Marketing (i.e. local branding, websites, collateral, patient recruitment, community engagement), contracting (system and process implementation), collections (CTMS/data warehouse migration), sales (CRM implementations, pipeline management processes), & regulatory (SOPs, audit processes, quality programming)
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a central point of contact between PhaseWell departments (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Business Development, Site Operations) and acquired companies to ensure smooth coordination and clear communication.
  • Playbook Development: Build and refine PhaseWell’s integration playbook. Define standard operating procedures (SOPs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and tools for efficient and repeatable M&A integration execution.
  • Operational Onboarding: Facilitate onboarding of newly acquired site leadership and staff into PhaseWell systems and processes. Provide hands-on support for transitioning day-to-day operations to PhaseWell platforms.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Proactively identify integration risks or issues related to culture, compliance, operations, or personnel and escalate as needed. Develop mitigation strategies to minimize business disruption.
  • Communication & Change Management: Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies to drive alignment and transparency. Ensure a thoughtful change management approach that drives team buy-in.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Track integration progress and report to the Chief of Staff and executive team on milestones, risks, and performance KPIs. Maintain clear documentation and status updates to ensure accountability and visibility.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Work closely with leadership team members to refine operational integration strategy and approach. Develop innovative ways to deploy data/AI to improve integrations and operational performance. Support on other organic growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in M&A Integrations, Multi-site healthcare, Operations, Strategy, Consulting / Advisory Services, Finance / Transaction Services
  • Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Clinical Trials experience but not required
  • Experience working within project management / work management systems, particularly Monday.com, is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to clinical trial sites frequently

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with fieldwork / travel tied to future acquisitions, integration efforts, conferences, etc.
  • In-person 5 days a week

FLSA Status: Exempt
This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the employee is not entitled to overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
