Job Location:

This is a full-time onsite position, with the ability to work onsite in Washington, DC 5x a week.

Clearance:

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Job Description:

In this position as a Manager - Federal Financial Operations, you will lead a team of analysts supporting a large federal client in enhancing financial operations, internal controls, and system improvements. You will be responsible for project performance, growth, personnel management, and overall service delivery. This role combines project leadership, technical financial expertise, and client-facing responsibilities. In this position, you will also:

  • Lead financial analysts and oversee delivery on federal client projects.
  • Own the project's financial outcomes, including forecasting, quality, and team performance.
  • Conduct requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders to define needs for financial system enhancements.
  • Analyze existing business and financial workflows to inform system and process improvements.
  • Develop functional design documentation and collaborate with developers and technical teams.
  • Coordinate data integrations and manage programming specifications.
  • Design, test, and revise financial reports based on stakeholder feedback and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and deliver training sessions.
  • Perform general ledger analysis and prepare journal voucher entries.
  • Maintain financial data systems and ensure operational integrity.
  • Draft internal controls, financial policies, and audit readiness documentation.
  • Lead OMB A-123 internal control reviews and prepare support for audit evaluations.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting federal financial operations and systems.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting OMB A-123 assessments and preparing audit-ready documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience managing project teams and delivering client-facing financial solutions.
  • 1 year of experience working with GFMS (Global Financial Management System) and CBS (Commerce Business System).

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in analyzing business processes, documenting financial workflows, and developing functional requirements.
  • Skilled in translating requirements into technical specifications and collaborating with development teams.
  • Experienced in designing and customizing financial reports using tools like SQL, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of federal accounting standards, financial reconciliation, and internal policy/procedure development.
  • Comfortable working with federal entities (e.g., NIST, Department of Commerce) and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
