Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Manager of Engineering – Machining role in Cincinnati, OH. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest-quality products. With a focus on continuous improvement, they pride themselves on maintaining excellence at every stage of their manufacturing process—particularly within high-precision aerospace and defense machining.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and oversee the daily operations of the machining engineering department, ensuring high-quality output and alignment with production goals.
· Provide hands-on machining expertise, particularly with titanium, Inconel, and other hard metals.
· Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex milling processes, ensuring efficiency, repeatability, and precision.
· Utilize MX Siemens controls and programming (experience ) to support machining operations and engineering development.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to machining performance, tooling, process capability, and cost reduction.
· Collaborate closely with production, quality, and leadership teams to support project priorities and resolve technical challenges.
· Support new product introduction (NPI), ensuring manufacturability, proper documentation, and smooth transition into production.
· Maintain strong adherence to aerospace and defense manufacturing standards, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance.
· Mentor and develop engineers and technicians, contributing to a strong, high-performance engineering culture.
· Provide technical leadership on capital equipment recommendations, process upgrades, and machining technology improvements.
Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within machining, aerospace, defense, or high-precision environments.
· Proven hands-on machining experience with titanium, Inconel, and complex milling operations.
· Experience with MX Siemens machining/programming strongly .
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
· Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, fixtures, CNC optimization, and process control.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
· Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and mentor technical team members.
