Objective
The Manager, Aviation Maintenance Part 135/145 Repair Station is responsible for performing all facets of maintenance and repairs to aircraft by ensuring all aircraft is airworthy and that all technical aspects of the plane are documented properly. The A&P Production Supervisor is responsible for researching, interpreting, and applying technical data to the task at hand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Must have experience with the following:

  • General background with turbine Corporate and piston General Aviation Aircraft, A.M.P. and general record keeping, and Inspection Authorization duties and responsibilities. Working liaison with FAA documents and revision/modification.
  • Ensure the quality of aircraft, engine and avionics maintenance and repair:
    • Establish maintenance safety rules and procedures.
    • Formulate and direct minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures
    • Establish aircraft safe handling procedures.
    • Help establish timely and efficient schedules for periodic inspections, general overhaul, repairs and modifications.
    • Help coordinate activities of the maintenance department with flight operations.
    • Establish, maintain and monitor records as required by FARs, manufacturers and company policy.
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance, recordkeeping and overall presentation of the maintenance facility
  • Establish spares and ground support equipment inventories and currency.
  • Ensure personnel are thoroughly familiar with company policies, appropriate FARs, pertinent manuals, practices and publications.
  • Establish programs for personnel proficiency training, reviews and upgrades, in accordance with FAA and company requirements.
  • Assist with establishment of performance appraisal procedures and dismissal standards.
  • Recommend the proper staffing for the maintenance department.
  • Supervise and develop maintenance personnel to realize their full potential.
  • Assist with the development of department policies, annual operating budget, and short- and long-range plans.
  • Assist with assessment of aircraft cost studies.
  • Review Work Orders for completeness and correctness.

Competencies
1. Must possess minimum 10 years' experience as an A&P mechanic.
2. Customer focus-naturally outgoing/extroverted
3. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by our insurance company (Requires clean driving record)
4. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the President.

Work Environment

This position works inside a hangar and outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:


1. Communicate with customers and employees in person, on phone, and through
radio communications
2. Position requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
3. Good physical condition, frequent lifting, carrying weight up to 35 pounds, and
occasional pushing/pulling weights up to 100 pounds.
4. Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery
5. Outside work in all types of weather conditions.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a non-exempt position. This position includes shift work which requires working evenings and weekends, and on
scheduled company holidays.

Travel

Minimal travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
1. A & P Mechanic certification
2. Prior aircraft ground handling experience
3. High School Diploma

1. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
2. Acceptable driving record
3. Ability to pass a background check
4. Participate in DOT drug and alcohol screening program
