Estimating Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Analyze and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Utilize construction estimating software, such as Building Connected & Planswift
- Research and obtain pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Evaluate project risks and develop contingency plans
- Create comprehensive project estimates that include labor costs, material costs, equipment costs, and overhead expenses
- Present estimates to clients and participate in negotiations to secure contracts

Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings

Compare and qualify subcontractor estimates

Prepare and submit budgets, estimates, weekly progress reports and cost tracking reports as well as project schedule

Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates

Effectively communicate with clients, architects, subcontractors and/or suppliers to prepare estimates for all jobs, review quotes for accuracy and scope

To discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues submit proposals and bid packages within provided due dates

Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.

Review change orders and inform office staff immediately of any issues and discrepancies

Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with project stakeholders
- Negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts
- Attention to detail for precise estimation of project costs
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with cost control techniques in construction projects

Minimum five-years experience as an Estimator
