Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems and equipment throughout FWHA properties.
- Perform routine checks of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and walkways.
- Handle general maintenance needs, such as replacing light bulbs and completing minor repairs.
- Diagnose issues by examining control panels, electrical wiring, and related components.
- Maintain grounds equipment, tools, and motorized maintenance machinery.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency call schedule (approximately every 7 weeks).
- Apply paint, varnish, lacquer, and other protective finishes as needed.
- Carry out physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., digging, unloading supplies, carrying materials, and installing components.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Complete work orders promptly and efficiently.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with , colleagues, and contractors.
- Approach daily tasks with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a team-first attitude.
Work Environment
- Work is performed across multiple FWHA properties and may take place outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- The role includes frequent interaction with and collaboration with vendors and contractors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related skilled trade.
- Valid Indiana driver’s license with insurability under FWHA standards.
- Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform routine building maintenance and general repair tasks.
