We're seeking a hands-on and enthusiastic Maintenance Fitter to support the smooth operation of our UK-based waste management facility.



Responsibilities



In this role, you’ll maintain and repair essential machinery such as conveyors and excavators, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.



Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of plant machinery, including conveyor systems, shredders, excavators, and more.



Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot machinery issues, diagnose faults, and perform necessary repairs, replacements, or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.



Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and downtime.



Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, including proper waste handling.



Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including logs of inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory.



Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance staff and engineering teams to address complex issues and improve overall plant operations.



Requirements



Just a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a passion for making a difference.



Qualifications in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.



Proven experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a waste management or industrial setting.



Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.



Knowledge of heavy plant machinery and associated equipment.



Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
