Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week

About the Opportunity

We're partnered with a leading operator in the Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector to recruit a proactive Maintenance Technician for a large, modern residential development in central Glasgow. This is a part-time role ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in maintaining high-quality living environments and delivering excellent service.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician will take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep, presentation, and safety of the apartment building and its communal areas. Working closely with on-site colleagues, a General Manager and external contractors, you'll ensure maintenance tasks, repairs and requests are handled efficiently and to a high standard. The role involves a combination of planned and reactive maintenance across a high-rise rental apartment block.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Diagnose and resolve routine maintenance issues within apartments, including joinery, painting, decorating and appliance fixes.

  • Respond to and manage daily maintenance requests through a CRM system.

  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of tools and materials.

Building Presentation

  • Ensure both the interior and exterior of the building are consistently well-presented.

  • Move or arrange furniture within apartments or communal areas when required.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Complete daily checks of the building and plant rooms.

  • Report and action compliance issues through the relevant H&S and PPM systems.

  • Carry out regular apartment checks, including flushing taps and showers.

  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.

Contractor Coordination

  • Liaise with and oversee external contractors, ensuring work is completed to specification.

  • Assist with sourcing specialist contractors and negotiating cost-effective rates.

  • Manage work permits and ensure compliance before works commence.

Apartment Turnarounds

  • Conduct pre-check-in and pre-check-out inspections.

  • Complete minor repairs and redecoration to prepare apartments for new and minimise void periods.

Experience

  • Provide a friendly and customer-focused service to all and visitors.

  • Keep informed on maintenance progress and building updates.

  • Meet and exceed service-level expectations for all maintenance tasks.

Person Profile

We are seeking an individual who:

  • Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage workload independently.

  • Has strong skills in general maintenance, especially joinery, painting and residential repairs.

  • Ideally brings basic plumbing or electrical knowledge and experience with H&S compliance (IOSH desirable).

  • Has experience in residential property (PRS, BTR, PBSA) or hospitality environments.

  • Demonstrates reliability in managing PPM and safety processes.

  • Is committed to delivering excellent customer service.
