Our client in Northvale, NJ is looking for a Manufacturing Mechanic responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems used in the manufacturing process. This role ensures optimal performance, safety, and reliability of production machinery to support efficient operations and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, mechanical systems, and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace defective components such as bearings, gears, belts, motors, pumps, and valves.
- Support equipment setup and changeovers for production runs.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to identify process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all work complies with OSHA and company standards.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment or production lines.
- Building and ground maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field .
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining techniques a plus.
- Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and control systems .
- Other Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime or rotating shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving machinery.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing plant and requires regular interaction with production personnel, maintenance staff, and management.
