Position Overview:


We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance of our facility, equipment, and production operations in Northbrook. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, production lines, coolers, freezers, lighting, and overall facility appearance while ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience troubleshooting equipment and facility issues, and the ability to work in a food manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of the building, facility, equipment, and machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and production equipment
  • Support production lines, coolers, freezers, lighting systems, and grounds/facility upkeep
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery according to schedule
  • Conduct routine building maintenance duties to keep the facility in safe working order
  • Perform routine plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Paint interior and exterior walls as needed
  • Fabricate or upgrade parts and materials to support production standards
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors for repairs and specialized support when needed
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Support compliance with SQF, OSHA, FDA, HACCP, and EPA regulations
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Director for training on procedures and processes
  • Participate in food safety training provided by QA as required

Time Allocation

  • 50% Equipment maintenance and repairs
  • 50% Building maintenance

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems
  • Preventive maintenance experience required
  • Ability to perform routine plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or production environment is a plus
  • SQF, OSHA, and Electrical certifications are a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
