About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems within our healthcare facility located in Cornerstone, 55. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maintain the integrity and functionality of plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical systems. The technician will contribute to creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors by promptly addressing maintenance issues and preventing potential hazards. Collaboration with other departments and adherence to health and safety regulations are essential to this role. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician ensures that the facility operates efficiently, supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance work involving plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and carpentry.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and perform manual labor as required.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to talk and hear clearly to understand instructions and report issues.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or vocational training in maintenance technology or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to healthcare facilities.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • First aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair issues related to mechanical systems, electrical wiring, carpentry, drywall, and plumbing in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to assess and verify the accuracy of repairs and installations.
  • Climb ladders and access confined spaces safely to perform maintenance tasks at various heights and locations within the facility.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare staff and management to report maintenance status, coordinate repairs, and minimize disruption to healthcare operations.

The required skills such as plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical repair are essential for diagnosing and fixing a wide range of facility issues to maintain operational continuity.
