Job Description
A well-established manufacturing facility in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join its team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Repair/rebuild various plant and process equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and related equipment.
  • Repair/rebuild/replace hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and troubleshoot flow controls.
  • Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), including inputs and outputs.
  • Repair/replace instrumentation such as level sensors, RTDs, chart recorders, prox sensors, and photo eyes.
  • Use a CMMS to process work orders, perform preventative maintenance, and manage inventory/parts orders.
  • Operate forklifts and aerial platforms.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Fabricate, drill, file, grind, cut, saw, and machine materials using hand and power tools, mills, and lathes.
  • Weld and polish stainless steel to industry standards.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair/replace components including fuses, relays, transformers, and wiring.
  • Maintain ammonia systems, HVAC systems, steam systems, and plumbing equipment as needed.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain door systems, including fire doors, overhead doors, and roll-up doors.
  • Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.
  • Work weekends and holidays as needed.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training .
  • Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Basic math skills and ability to work with measurements in weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and climb up to 4 flights of stairs for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in extreme cold, heat, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Welding, electrical, or mechanical skills are a strong plus.
  • Flexible to work various shifts as needed.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
