Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the operation, reliability, and compliance of facility systems and production equipment within a 503B outsourcing facility. This role ensures that all equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure are maintained in a qualified and operational state in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), FDA guidance, and internal quality systems. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting aseptic operations, and maintaining a state of inspection readiness. The hours for this position are M-F, 8 am – 5 pm, with occasional over-time or schedule changes (5 am – 2 pm).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general building maintenance activities, including but not limited to lamp replacement, minor construction tasks, basic electrical work, door repairs, and routine plumbing repairs.
  • Maintain and support production equipment, ensuring proper functionality and operational readiness.
  • Promote equipment reliability through execution of preventive maintenance programs and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities and minor mechanical repairs on production and facility equipment.
  • Use structured preventive maintenance systems to maintain machinery in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and established maintenance best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment service history.
  • Coordinate with external service providers as necessary by initiating and managing service requests or work orders.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with applicable guidance and standards that define equipment performance and operational requirements.
  • Apply and support 5S principles and Lean practices to enhance efficiency, organization, and continuous improvement within the facility.
  • Support warehouse operations as needed, including receiving, handling, and movement of materials.
  • Perform physical tasks as required, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Adhere to cleanroom protocols, including proper gowning procedures and maintenance of cleanroom etiquette.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
