POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician B supports the upkeep, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This mid-level role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and assisting senior technicians with complex repairs. The Technician B ensures equipment reliability and contributes to a safe, efficient production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, conveyors, pumps, motors, and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues under guidance from senior technicians
  • Assistwith equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Conduct inspections and document findings in maintenance logs or CMMS systems
  • Replace worn or defective parts using hand tools and power tools
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and scheduled downtime activities
  • Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout and PPE usage
  • Communicate equipment status and issues to supervisors and production teams
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas
  • Participate in training and cross-functional improvement initiatives

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and maintenance documentation
  • Forklift or scissor lift certification a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree
  • 2-4years of experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment
