Silver Lion Farms is looking for a dependable, and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in White Pine County, Ely, Nevada
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the performance and upkeep of our equipment and systems in our cannabis facilities and large-scale, state-of-the-art greenhouse.In this role, you’ll work under limited supervision to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of mechanical components. From performing installations and test runs to supporting operations during peak seasons, you'll play a vital role in performing maintenance tasks to support facility operations at our 250,000 sq. ft. greenhouse facilities and onsite housing. Location: This is an onsite position at our Ely, Nevada location at 30955 N. Alt, US-93, Ely, NV 89301 (Near intersection of US Rt 93 & US Alt Route 93).
Schedule: The schedule is Monday-Friday 7 am – 3:30 pm. There may be times you are called in on weekends, holidays, and after hours for maintenance needs.

Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Survey and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with safety standards.
- Run diagnostics, adjust, repair, and maintain various systems and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of facility systems, equipment, and grounds.
- Assist with repairs to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other systems as directed.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely.
- Support landscaping and irrigation system maintenance.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
- Record maintenance activities and report issues promptly.
- Respond to emergency repair needs as assigned.
- Attend training sessions as needed.
- May occasionally be required to be on call due to special circumstances or departmental needs. (natural disasters, or major emergency incidents)
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supportive Functions
- May be required to help with general field operations at peak season or slow mechanical periods throughout the year
- Meets with management regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as necessary
- Communicates with the management team to order replacement parts for machines
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain necessary licenses to work in the cannabis industry
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Experience as a maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Experience with welding and fabrication
- Knowledge of computers, email and mobile apps
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Nice to Haves
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field
- Welding experience
- Harvest machinery experience
- Plumbing experience
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- Commercial Driver's License
Physical Requirements/Environmental Factors:Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often in a greenhouse environment. Repetitive Motion: Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching to handle plants and equipment. Manual Dexterity: Proficient hand-eye coordination for tasks such as cloning, trellising, and transplanting. Work Environment: Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels typical of greenhouse environments. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
