JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician - Electrical provides support to the facility by performing all necessary maintenance related functions safely, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment to ensure production continuity and efficiency.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete schedule preventative maintenance on time and monitor results.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine parts and repairs needed.
  • Communicate all problems, repairs, solutions and recommendations to Maintenance Supervisors and employees affected.
  • Perform mechanical skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic and troubleshooting.
  • Work as a team with other Maintenance Technicians to accomplish workload.
  • Look up components and parts in electrical/mechanical manuals.
  • Maintain and improve knowledge of equipment and machinery.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations
  • Work with high voltage systems and specialized control systems like PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) while adhering to strict industry standards
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Understand and interpret written and oral instructions, comprehend and make inferences from written material, read and interpret machine and building blueprints
  • Complete work orders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responsible for all machine maintenance with safety and functionality as a focus
  • Identify machine parts needed for repair or stocking and inform MRO Buyer
  • Perform work from an aerial platform scissors or boom lift in a safe, effective and efficient manner
  • Identify and report problems and possible solutions regarding the efficiency and functionality of production assets
  • Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment
  • Record and report parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary
  • Record and report repairs and maintenance performed
  • Perform buildings and grounds maintenance as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years as an Electrical Maintenance Technician or experience performing electrical maintenance work withing a maintenance department
  • Good understanding and troubleshooting experience in electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including welders, cranes, pneumatics & electrical tools
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Secondary school in electrical and knowledge of NEC

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any leadership responsibilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel to and from Robinson Facilities is required.
