Our client is a growing manufacturer in Charlotte, North Carolina, looking to expand their team.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of industrial production equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of machinery while following all established safety protocols and maintaining accurate records of performed activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance tasks across all equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections.
- Inspect machinery for signs of wear or potential problems and report findings as needed.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in production environments.
- Replace or repair faulty machine components as necessary.
- Document all maintenance and repair actions according to standard procedures.
- Install new machinery or modify existing equipment under supervision, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Adhere strictly to all safety rules, including lockout/tagout and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly.
- Assist with the management of parts inventory and supply tracking.
- Train other team members on basic maintenance skills and best practices as directed.
- Communicate clearly with production staff and supervisors regarding ongoing maintenance needs and issues.
- Availability for occasional overtime or weekends to support production requirements as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial or manufacturing context.
- Proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose complex equipment problems.
- Reliable communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience; previous experience in industrial maintenance or a related field is a plus.
- Certifications or training in relevant technical areas (electrical, hydraulics, etc.) are advantageous.
This role may require working in a fast-paced environment and performing additional duties as assigned.
