The Janitorial and Maintenance Technician position helps keep our facility clean, safe, and running smoothly. PThe successful candidate will perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks related to the janitorial, maintenance, and repair needs of the Aquatic Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from High School or GED, including any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
  • At least 2 years of building and/or maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to a work schedule.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test (including THC) and criminal background check.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects and needed repairs to the Parks and Facilities Manager.
  • Performs a variety of custodial and repair services, including, but not limited to: changing lights; pressure washing/scrubbing; cleaning gutters, sidewalks, and grounds around the Aquatic Center.
  • Performs building maintenance and repairs such as painting, carpentry, locker repair, and plumbing.
  • Maintains accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities for all equipment.
  • Coordinates with other City Departments and outside contractors for work to be performed at the facility, as applicable.
  • Complies with all City and State regulations for OSHA and other safety requirements.
  • Does related work and other tasks as assigned.

HOURS AND PAY

  • Part time - Up to 29 hours per week
  • $16.00 per hour
