About the Role

The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in the daily upkeep and smooth operation of Farm and Forge’s facilities and grounds. This is a hands-on position focused on preventive maintenance, general repairs, and ensuring our spaces are safe, clean, and fully functional for members, guests, and staff.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll handle a wide range of maintenance needs, from HVAC, plumbing, and electrical basics, to tennis court maintenance, and event support. If something is broken, out of place, or not working as it should, you’re the one who makes it right.

This is not a desk job. The ideal candidate enjoys rolling up their sleeves, troubleshooting issues, and taking pride in keeping facilities running at their best. At launch in November 2025, you’ll oversee a 65,000 sq. ft. facility and a small team focused on providing
the best member experience possible. This scope will expand as two additional 65,000 sq. ft. buildings, indoor + outdoor tennis courts (36 in total), and turf fields are completed in mid-2026 and beyond. Being a part of a start-up team means plenty of growth and advancement for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs on facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, tennis court maintenance, and equipment.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify issues before they become major problems.

  • Handle repairs directly when possible; escalate or coordinate with contractors when specialized expertise is needed.

  • Maintain clay tennis courts as needed (will be provided training on the specialized maintenance process).

  • Maintain facility infrastructure such as lighting, thermostats, locks, appliances, and restrooms.

  • Assist with room/event setup and breakdowns as needed.

  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and complies with applicable codes.

  • Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

  • Monitor supply levels and request tools or materials as needed.

  • Support upkeep of outdoor spaces, including sidewalks, fencing, driveways, and outdoor athletic areas (tennis courts, turf fields as they are completed).

  • Clear debris and manage seasonal outdoor needs to ensure grounds are safe and presentable.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training .

  • 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a commercial, athletic, or multi-purpose facility.

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems strongly .

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs, reckless driving, license suspensions, or 4+ moving violations).

  • Ability to safely operate large equipment such as tractors and utility vehicles.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks safely.

  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight and direction.

  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills, and willingness to take initiative.

  • Dependable, solution-oriented, and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.

  • Availability for occasional on-call or emergency maintenance needs outside of normal hours.

  • Ability to communicate in English is required.
