Our client, a small family-owned business crafting custom-made paper recognition products for nearly a century is seeking a qualified 1st shift Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in Gardner, MA. This is a full time position that will offer opportunities for advancement, competitive pay, and a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Schedule: 1st shift
Starting Hourly Rate: $28.00- $40.00/Hr (Depending on experience and skill set)
Job Summary: As the go-to mechanic, you’ll “wear all the hats” across the production floor, ensuring that machines and building systems stay in peak condition.
Essential Functions:

Set up, troubleshoot, and repair 25+ production machines, including:
paper converting, casing, pick-and-place, gluing, packaging, die-cutting, and hot foil stamping. -
Partner with the Plant Supervisor to coordinate production and reduce downtime.

Oversee full plant/building maintenance, from daily fixes to long-term preventative maintenance.

Manage inventory and parts, keeping our tool room clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Implement and oversee Lock-Out/Tag-Out and safety procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:

High mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues.

Familiarity with electric, pneumatic, and heat transfer systems (motors, gears, cams, conveyors, pumps, etc.).

Ability to read blueprints and electrical/mechanical drawings.

Strong communication skills for working with internal teams and outside contractors.

Bonus: Bridgeport machining and PLC programming experience.
