Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will lead troubleshooting and corrective maintenance related to equipment, acting as the first level of escalation for lower-level technicians. This role requires dismantling and rebuilding machinery, equipment, and field devices to access and remove defective parts. You will perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance and lead the PdM program, ensuring the efficient operation of machines and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Dismantle and rebuild machinery using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including inspecting drives, motors, or belts, and checking fluid levels.
  • Lead the PdM program, perform repairs, and track pre- and post-repair performance changes.
  • Utilize prints, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures using various tools such as hammers, saws, and drills.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, including control field devices, contactors, starters, and safety devices.
  • Mentor junior technicians and peers, providing guidance to achieve departmental goals.
  • Review and complete work orders timely, conducting necessary maintenance or repairs.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures at all times and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments, communicating with Plant Management regarding maintenance issues.
  • Complete daily reports outlining maintenance or repairs conducted over the course of the shift.
  • Participate in root cause analysis events and comply with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality, and sanitation initiatives and policies.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Experience with mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Ability to use tools such as precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
  • Experience with relay logic, control field devices, and VFDs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Needing 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Must provide own tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Pittsburg, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
