Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and manual tasks to ensure the proper care, upkeep, and repair of buildings, property, and equipment. This role works closely with multiple departments to complete maintenance requests and repairs efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities may also involve coordinating with external parties, including contractors, suppliers, and inspectors, as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong communication, interpersonal and MS Office Suite skills
- Strong customer service focus, bias toward action, excellent time management and consistent documentation, spoken and written communication skills
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete jobs in a timely manner as assigned or scheduled
- Able to respond to crisis situations with an appropriate level of urgency and decisiveness
- Possess or able to obtain within 2 weeks of hire a current, valid Class F Drivers license and meet the KVC approved driver requirements
- Ability to use a variety of power and hand tools, including painters, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and mason's tools.
Experience/Skills:
- Some college courses in maintenance or work experience in construction and/or maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance, construction, custodial and landscaping methods
- Local building safety and health codes
